The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Mutahi Kagwe, announced on Monday June 27, 2022 that both the Kenyan and UK governments had shortlisted nurses to work in the UK. This comes months after President Uhuru Kenyatta and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson signed an agreement in January.

As part of UK and Kenya Health Partnership UK High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe this afternoon flagged of the first cohort of 19 Kenyan nurses going to work in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).” Read a statement from the official UK High Commission Twitter handle, @UKinKenya.
They will be posted to various stations including Oxford University Hospitals.
