KIRAITU, MWAURE REAP GOVERNMENT JOBS

Former Meru Governor, Kiraitu Murungi and former Presidential candidate and Agano Party leader, David Waihiga Mwaure secure state jobs.

The former Governor was appointed as chairperson of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya for a period of three years by President William Ruto via a gazette notice dated April 19, 2023.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I appoint Kiraitu Murungi to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya,” the gazette notice stated.  

Kiraitu vied for a second term as Meru Governor, in the 2022 General Elections, but came in third. He was ousted by the incumbent, Kawira Mwangaza.

Former Presidential candidate and Agano Party leader, David Waihiga Mwaure was, on Thursday April 20, 2023 appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund, NETFUND, for a period of three years by Environment CS, Soipan Tuya.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 (3) of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry appointed David Mwaure Waihiga,” read the notice.

Both appointments were effected April 20, 2023.
